Bigler Sports Fastpitch offers Girls Academies this Fall

Pitching and Hitting Techniques to be the Focus

Milwaukee, WI (October 20, 2011) – Bigler Sports girls fastpitch division will offer two academies this Fall for girls 10 to 14 years old.

Both academies will take place October 30th through November 20th at the Leeson Building, 2100 Washington Avenue in Grafton. The cost is $109.00 for each session and registration is available at www.biglerfastpitch.com

The off-season fastpitch pitching academy will take place from 4:00pm-5:00pm. Girls will learn the proper way to warm-up to maximize performance while minimizing injury. A number of drills that develop techniques and mechanics will also be taught, and the all-important mental part of the game will be stressed.

In the fastpitch hitting academy, participants will learn how repetition can give ball players a competitive edge heading into their winter workouts. Proper stance, weight distribution, swing path, back-side turn and follow-through are just a few of the things that will be covered. Concentrated drills will be thoroughly demonstrated and instructed so that athletes develop the skills needed to succeed.

Bigler Sports fastpitch Director Ashley Webber will be heading up a Bigler Sports staff in coaching these academy sessions! Coach Ashley will teach the proper ways to develop techniques and the right attitudes that pitchers and hitters need to know. She is currently the head coach of the Southeast Wisconsin-based U12 Midwest Pride Softball team. Ashley is ACE certified and has been playing/coaching softball for over 17 years. She is also the Varsity assistant fastpitch coach at Brookfield Central High School and a graduate of UW Madison where she formed the UW fastpitch Softball Club.

Ashley says, “I teach girls fastpitch because of the “aha” moment. When the kids finally get a hit, or throw a strike, all of the skills they have learned come together and it finally makes sense to them. That is the most gratifying thing that any teacher could ask for.”

Bigler Sports features four sports divisions; Baseball, Basketball, Football and Girls Fast Pitch. Bigler Baseball, the first division, was founded in 2006 with one very important and basic purpose: Help athletes of all ages achieve the highest level of performance they are capable of.

Bigler camps, coaches’ clinics and individual coaching sessions are ongoing throughout the year. They also feature Fall Ball baseball leagues.
