Nate Oekerman

Lacrosse Instructor

High school playing career:
I am from Beaverton, Oregon where I played at Beaverton high school and multiple club teams. As a high school player I was on varsity all four years and played attack, midfield, defense, goalie and took faceoffs, but played long stick midfielder the majority of the time. I have played against the best players to come out of the west coast, in both high school and club games. I was the 10th ranked long stick midfielder in the pacific northwest (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana) by Inside Lacrosse my senior year and was recruited by all levels. My senior year we won a state championship.

College playing career:
I played all four years at Concordia playing in 62 games and starting in 49 of them. I was all conference in my sophomore and junior year. I am 4 th all time in caused turnovers with 76, and picked up 127 ground balls. I was a two-time captain on the team and helped the team win its first ever conference championship in 2019. My senior year was cut short due to COVID-19 but was on pace to break the all-time games played record at CUW. I graduated with a degree in K-12 Education in the Spring of 2020 and am currently working on my master’s degree in education as well.

Coaching career:
I have over 7 years of coaching experience for lacrosse. I have coached every level of lacrosse at a club level from U14 to High school elite programs. With my playing experience, I am able to coach each position at a very high level. I have coached players that have gone on to play lacrosse at every collegiate level, with players going to Maryland, Virginia, Townson, Tampa, Belmont Abby, York, Whittier, and other NAIA and MCLA schools. I am currently coaching at Concordia University Wisconsin as the offensive coordinator and faceoff coach.
