Now that another very entertaining World Series is over, I couldn’t help but marvel at the resiliency of the Kansas City Royals. Not only did they come back several times in the later innings in the series, they could have very easily been eliminated several different times before they got there. If you stayed up to watch them come from behind to win game 5 as I did, the question was asked of Lorenzo Cain as to what it was about the team that enabled them to continue to do so? He spoke of the never say die attitude they have as a team and the confidence they have in themselves and their teammates. All very true I’m sure and certainly a big part of their ability to do so, but I would argue that there is more to it than that. First off, I think the question you have to ask yourself is where does that attitude and confidence come from? This very topic was just recently asked of me by one of our BT club parents. Although there is no magic formula for it and it is tough to define I certainly do have some thoughts on the subject and I look forward to sharing them with you in the days ahead.
